We weren't particular surprised by Chevrolet's unveiling of a Tahoe Police Concept Car at SEMA, as it seemed a perfectly natural use for the truck, and we weren't surprised today when news broke that the Tahoe was going to be offered in law-enforcement spec to police agencies around the country. With stiff competition from the Dodge Durango and the tremendously popular Ford Explorer PPV, a cop-spec 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, makes perfect sense. The Chevrolet Tahoe PPV will debut with the new fuel-efficient 5.3-liter direct-injection V8 engine, which produces 335 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.
In a bid to improve its lineup before a fleet of new Fiat-based vehicles arrives in 2012, Chrysler Group is rushing new features and equipment into 15 reworked vehicles. The equipment, such as a Fiat dual-clutch, six-speed transmission and a new Chrysler V6, will boost fuel economy, improve driving dynamics and spiff up drab interiors, all areas in which Chrysler has fared poorly in consumer surveys. All the vehicles will be on sale by the first quarter of next year.

Hertz and Lotus have the answer – drive a Lotus Elise to show the Italians they’re not the only ones to make a cracking two seater (and a lot cheaper). Hertz has teamed up with Lotus to offer a fleet of bright yellow Lotus Elise SC at select outlets throughout Italy from the middle of this month. True to say you could probably have hired yourself a Lotus before to trolly round Italy, but with a big car hire company like Hertz in on the plan you can be pretty sure there will be a lot of takers.
